Spybot Search & Destroy- This program will remove most harmful spyware infecting your computer. It even includes a built in update utility. This program also has many advanced features, including a startup kill list, BHO edit list, and a winsock viewer.
Spyware Doctor- When this program is combined with Spybot no spyware stands a chance! While Spybot kills the initial spyware, Spyware Doctor cleans out any remnants left behind. An extremely useful tool that will make sure no trace of spyware remains on your system.
Hijack This- This program displays all of the key entries in your registry in one convenient list. This software will help you find those nasty pieces of spyware that hide themselves from scans. AVG - AVG is an excellent alternative to the major commercial anti-virus programs such as Norton or McAfee. This free download is a slightly scaled down version of the commercial one, but it is very robust and does an excellent job at detecting and removing viruses on your machine.
Spyware Blaster- While the above programs remove the spyware you have, this well designed program prevents new spyware from infecting your computer. With it's own updater and control interface this program will complete your anti-spyware arsenal.
Belarc Advisor- Have you ever tried to upgrade your RAM? Don't you hate that you need to open up your computer to figure out what type and how much you currently have. This program profiles your machine and tells you everything you need to know without the fuss.
